As a startup's vice president of business development, you must be very passionate about our new revolutionizing technology and comfortable wearing several hats at once. You must be very persistent and convincing when speaking with representatives of luxury brands, art galleries, museums, and individual artists, signing new clients, and closing contracts.

You also must be comfortable with and proficient in at least one type of social media. That being said, you should be prepared to work with and oversee a professional PR outsourcing company. You also must be ready to hire and supervise an in-house team as the company expands.

Qualifications

You must possess at least a bachelor's degree in marketing, art history, or luxury management and five or more years of related experience. Strong leadership capability, relationship management skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills are a must. You should be able to grow and maintain relationships with any individual, regardless of background and type of personality.
