Description:
Working as a Warehouse/Logistics Supervisor in the red meat industry requires a unique set of skills to ensure the efficient handling and distribution of meat products.
Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Management:
· Oversee the receiving, storage, and issuance of red meat products.
· Implement and maintain inventory control procedures.
· Regularly conduct stock audits to ensure accuracy.
2. Logistics Coordination:
· Plan and coordinate the transportation of red meat products.
· Collaborate with shipping companies and carriers to optimize logistics.
· Monitor delivery schedules and ensure on-time shipments.
3. Quality Assurance:
· Implement and enforce quality control measures for incoming and outgoing products.
· Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in handling meat products.
· Investigate and resolve any quality or safety issues promptly.
4. Supervision and Training:
· Lead and supervise warehouse staff, providing guidance and training.
· Create and maintain a positive and efficient working environment.
· Conduct performance evaluations and address any performance issues.
5. Technology Utilization:
· Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to streamline operations.
· Implement technology solutions for tracking and tracing products.
· Stay updated on industry-specific technology advancements.
6. Documentation and Reporting:
· Maintain accurate records of all inventory movements and transactions.
· Generate regular reports on warehouse and logistics performance.
· Provide insights and recommendations for process improvements.
7. Compliance:
· Ensure compliance with industry regulations, including cold chain management.
· Keep abreast of changes in relevant laws and regulations.
· Work with regulatory bodies to obtain necessary certifications.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
· Proven experience in warehouse and logistics management, preferably in the red meat industry.
· Knowledge of cold chain logistics and storage requirements for meat products.
· Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and certifications.
· Strong leadership and communication skills.
· Proficiency in using warehouse management systems and related software.
